Owning several vintage fragrances, I am curious to know why on some bottles the alcohol degrees are symbolised with ° and on others with %. Reading the blog ‘Raiders Of The Lost Scent’ I discovered that the ° symbol was banned in the late 1970s to change to the % symbol.
I am not sure if this is correct, because I own fragrances launched in the 1970s as edt and later – the same fragrance – in the 1980s as edp that sport the ° symbol.
