She claims to be self taught, her brands perfumes are finely polished professional perfumes, and she has a repertoire that nearly puts Alberto Morillas to shame. If she could really make that many perfumes in such a short time, that are all somewhat unique and high quality she’d be working for a big oil company — those are the only people who have the skills and resources to do this task.
Pissara is exactly like Frederic Malle and Roja Dove — puts her name on the work, and built part of the reason people desire the perfumes (i.e. the brand), but not the perfumes themselves. Everyone exalts Malle’s work, because he’s honest. Pissara isn’t honest, and it’s just blatant when you consider how much work goes into making a single perfume. Let’s put into prospective that Jean Claude-Ellena crafted 13 Hermessence perfumes for Hermes, perfumes that Ellena describes as real passion projects that he put considerable effort into, in 12 years. One perfume a year. In just 6 years Pissara claims to have made 14 perfumes — and let’s also keep in mind these perfumes aren’t drivel. We have real hits like Oudh Infini & Le Sillage Blanc in this collection. There’s just no way she had the time to have the same output of perfumes as Ellena in half the time, while also building a brand new successful brand at the same time.
Can you honestly come to another conclusion than she’s lying and is only the creative director when we consider these facts? I cannot. The only self taught perfumers I know of that have similar output are making perfumes no one outside of Basenotes and profumo has ever heard of.
