What is Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener?
I was excited to try out this new launch from Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez, because I really liked the Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser (see my review with all the swatches of the full shade range), and I love the idea of a hydrating undereye makeup product.
- Formulated to hydrate and wake up the under eye area
- Sheer to medium buildable coverage
- Lightweight liquid formula
- Radiant finish
- Features a metal cool-tip applicator
- Can be used alone or layered with concealer
- Available in 6 shades
How to use the Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener
- Step 1: Using the metal cool-tip applicator, apply 2-4 dots to your undereye area, then tap to blend using your fingertip or brush. Repeat as needed for desired coverage.
- Step 2: For max soothing and cooling, gently glide the applicator across undereyes, then tap to blend.

My Review
I am enjoying this product because I actually really like the cool tip metal applicator which is a pretty unique feature for a concealer product. At first I thought it was a bit gimmicky but I’m actually a fan of it.
Whilst I don’t use it to blend, it does feel cool on the skin as you tap it on, but what I like the most is that the small top is really great for dosing the right amount of product. I find this really important because often the biggest problem I have with concealers is when the doe-foot applicator dumps on too much product right at the start.
Often, less is more when it comes to the undereye area, so the small dots of product that are dispensed with this application method are ideal.
The texture of the Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener is lovely. It is light and liquidy, yet feels nicely hydrating and smoothing on the skin. It is very easy to blend in. I lightly tap it into the skin and it melts in effortlessly.
A small amount of product gives a lovely brightening and lifting effect, and I feel happy to skip a heavier concealer.
The shade I like the best is Light-Medium, which has pink undertones, but just enough to neutralise discolouration around my eyes without looking too pink. This means that I can wear it alone, unlike many brighteners or corrector which require a layer of concealer over the top to balance out the undertones.
It works really well to keep the undereye area nice and hydrated and lasted well without settling into my fine lines.
If I have further observations I’ll update here, but let me know if you have any questions.
