Yes, do they count? They are edible… but they may not fit your preconception of what gourmand consists of. Seems like you would prefer a heavy vanilla dosage to fall into your gourmand category then?
I have no real preconceptions. Sure, my response was accompanied by my initial thoughts, but wasn’t an assertion that my response was the correct one. I have no real preconceptions, hence, the question being posed to you. I’m sure if you wanted to, you could find someone to debate the finer aspects of what is gourmand and what is citrus, fruit or even edible types of greens or even woods. But again, my point was to ask your opinion on the subject.
If you’re genuinely asking, there does seem to be a delineation between Citrus as a fragrance family and Gourmand as a fragrance family. Seeing those as individuals, I think something like Orange Sorbet would certainly straddle the line.
As a matter of fact, that’s what this whole thought experiment is. What y’all think a summer gourmand would look like in formulation, or rather, what one would smell like. I wrestle with this question every year around this time. I figured I would let the brains here give a chime in and post their .02.
