I haven’t tried lots and lots of products from The Inkey List, but I love their Oat Cleansing Balm and this latest launch has my name written all over it! Here’s the lowdown on The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid Dewy Sunscreen SPF 30.
What is The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid Dewy Sunscreen SPF 30?
With the launch of this new product, The Inkey list are promising to change the game when it comes to SPF, your skin, and makeup. This formula has been designed to give you protected, primed and dewy skin.
The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid Dewy Sunscreen SPF 30 has been two years in the making and it claims that it will not compromise your skincare or your makeup. As a daily high protection sunscreen wearer, I had to try this out.
The formula contains:
- Chemical filters provide broad-spectrum UVA and UVB
- 8% Polyglutamic Acid
- Squalane
- Glycerin
It has been designed to be pill-proof with no white caste and super hydrating.
The Inkey List Dewy Sunscreen Before & After Photos
I couldn’t wait to get this on my skin to see how dewy it made me look. Here are the photos so you can judge for yourself.
The Inkey Dewy Sunscreen Review
I have been giving this a whirl and I have to say, it certainly delivers. I usually use a product with SPF 50, as I am very prone to pigmentation being of Irish descent. So although the dewy factor with all the hydrating skincare really ticks the boxes for, I wish it was a 50!
I have to remind myself that the difference between an SPF 30 and 50 is slight. An SPF 30 defends the skin from approximately 97% of UVB rays, whereas a 50 filters out 98%. So it isn’t as big a deal as it sounds. I just can’t help wanting everything to be that one percent more! Anyway…
The texture of The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid Dewy Sunscreen SPF 30 is really nice.
It is rich and hydrating yet pretty light and easy to rub into the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy or clogging, and leaves a very light and agreeable tackiness like any good makeup primer does.
Apparently, The Inkey List decided to use Polyglutamic Acid for this priming sunscreen because customers were loving their Polyglutamic Acid Serum* under makeup as it gave a nice tackiness for foundation to stick to.
The new Dewy Sunscreen has a similar effect and gives a lovely base for makeup to grip on to. Fab!
The finish is really nice and definitely gives a lovely, almost skin-perfecting glow to the skin. It is plumping and smoothing, so will be great for minimal makeup days when perhaps you just want to wear a touch of concealer and not much else.
I found that my makeup applied really nicely on top of this, with no pilling as promised on pack! It also lasted well and my skin stayed feeling hydrated and moisturised throughout the day.
One thing to note is that you will only get the SPF 30 protection for a couple of hours, so while this is designed to hydrate, protect and prime the skin for makeup, you will need to top up if you require the protection to last throughout the day.
The Garnier Over Makeup Super UK SPF 50* is a great option for this.
If you are looking or a moisturiser with SPF 50 and active ingredients for hyperpigmentation, check out my review of the Vichy Liftactiv B3 Anti-Dark Spots SPF50 Day Cream.
