Fixateur 404 was a 10% dilution of Ambrox classique (a captive type). It later got replaced with Fixateur 505 (10% cetalox). Fixateur was considered so powerful that it was seldom seen above 2% in a commercial scent – it was just that strong. Then along came scents like Green Irish Tweed with 5% pure Ambrox DL, and later Aventus with 11% of the pure "super" Ambrox Classique (the captive one).
