So I’ve noticed a couple of things about this particular purchase:
1. The front and back of the box say “Eau De Toilette Vaporisateur” on one side, and “Eau De Toilette Natural Spray” on the other side. As far as I was aware, I thought that a fragrance can only be Vaporisateur or Natural Spray, as Natural Spray doesn’t pressurize the fragrance and uses a natural pump to propel it out of the atomizer, which is why it is strange for it to say both on the box.
2. On one of the sides of the box it says on one side:
“PARFUMS DAVIDOFF
PARIS
DIST.:
LANCASTER_GROUP U.S.A.
NEW YORK, N.Y. 10151
MADE IN FRANCE
under Licence of Zino Davidoff S.A.
Fribourg, Switzerland”
And on the other side of the box it says:
“INGREDIENTS:
SD ALCOHOL 39-C,
FRAGRANCE,
WATER”
3. The fragrance came with a box but it was unwrapped, so more than likely it was opened. On the photo of the atomizer, you can see this strange “residue” on the side of the atomizer, which I don’t believe should be there if the fragrance was “never used”. However, there was no smell of the fragrance from the atomizer at all when opening up the box, but I will say there was some sort of pungent smell chemical (some kind of sanitizing solution?) smell coming from the box.
4. The fragrance did come with a pamphlet advertising the other products within the Cool Water line which looks very legit.
5. Trying to spray the fragrance It took a couple of tries before the fragrance came out, which confirms to me that the fragrance was never sprayed, but the first several sprays smelled like alcohol which then developed into this “sour” smell. It took 5-10 minutes for the scent to settle down to what I can tell is Cool Water based on my other 75ml bottle.
6. I’m not sure if it mattered at all, but the cap for this 125ML does not stay on at all if I grab the bottle by the cap. The cap sits very loosely on the bottle but the 75ML bottle cap has grooves inside that cap that “grip” the atomizer which helps it stay on.
Overall, it seems legit but the alcohol/sour smell from the first several sprays and the residue on the atomizer has me a bit worried that the bottle might have been tampered with. The 75ml Natural Spray that I originally got from the giftset did not smell of alcohol once. The first couple of sprays smelled just like Cool Water immediately. Perhaps this 125ML has spoiled?
