what are some good frags that are not sweet?

The examples are innumerable! I prefer sweet fragrances, but even I have several that aren’t sweet. Please be warned that “sweet” is to some extent subjective, some think all fragrances with some form of vanilla or tonka are “sweet”, sometimes rose and some other florals as well as fruity notes and some resins seem to have the same effect. For this list I’ll try to avoid those notes.

Here are a few that i have tried:

In the hermessence collection, poivre samarcande, paprika brezil and volynka violette aren’s sweet and don’t have obvious vanilla or any of the other notes that my be interpeted as sweet. Hermes has several other fragrances from the main line that aren’t sweet.

From l’occitane, neither eau d’Iparie nor karité corsé are sweet.

Lily of the valley by penhaligons isn’t sweet, but it is floral. Same with vaara.

Aqua Maestae or Aqua Sacrae are also not sweet (but floral) from le couvent des minimes.

I would also add crimson rocks by amouage which isn’t sweet to me, but has a honey accord.

Tobacco toscano is a pretty dry / unsweet tobacco fragrance by santa maria novella, and similarly cuir cuba by parfums de nicolaï is not sweet, even if it is dense.
