I also did an experiment yesterday, spraying the perfume on my skin, and rubbed something on a cloth and today that smells absolutely masterful on the cloth. Earlier today I got some of the perfume on my nose by accident. I then wiped my nose with a tissue paper and the rest that remained on my nose smelled exactly as I imagine the perfume should smell.
What is also funny, I have a lot of patchouli in it, but do not smell it in the perfume at all. In the abrasion on the cloth, however, very clearly. What is the reason for this? Does it have something to do with oxidation? Or is there something in my blend that blocks the smell and I have to remove it?
It doesn’t matter, as I have this with all my amber perfumes, but an example where this occurs would be the following:
